Myriad is a radio automation suite that can stream your playout to your internet radio station through an encoder, whether you run it locally or in Myriad Cloud. This guide shows you how to live stream with Myriad by pointing a Myriad Cloud encoder at your RadioCult streaming server.

What is Myriad?

Myriad is a suite of radio automation software from Broadcast Radio that runs locally on your machine or in the cloud, with products such as Myriad Cloud and Myriad Anywhere. It manages playout, scheduling, and library management for your station, and connects to RadioCult so your listeners can tune in. It works well alongside RadioCult's own scheduling and automation.

Connecting Myriad to your RadioCult station

Myriad cannot send your username to RadioCult on its own, so you set the Source Username to source and place your real username in the Source Password field instead.

In the Source Password field, combine your username and streaming password with a vertical bar, in the format username|password. Your username is your RadioCult account login (your email address), and your streaming password is the unique password shown in the Connection details panel, which is separate from your account login password.

First, log in to RadioCult and open the Connection details panel on your Dashboard to copy the values you need. Then, in Myriad Cloud:

  1. Go to Settings, then Advanced Cloud Settings.
  2. In the Encoders section, click the + button to add a new encoder.
  3. Configure the encoder fields:
    • Reference: a unique name for this encoder
    • Server Name: your RadioCult Address (for example my-test-station.radiocult.fm)
    • Port: your RadioCult Port
    • Mountpoint Name: your Mountpoint with a leading forward slash (for example /live)
    • Source Username: source
    • Source Password: your email, a vertical bar, then your password (for example user@gmail.com|ab672gd21r)
  4. Click Save to store the encoder settings.

Going live

Toggle the Enabled switch for your configured encoder to start streaming live through RadioCult. Turn it off again to stop the broadcast.

That is everything you need to stream Myriad live. From here you can manage your shows and hosts with station and artist management, or see what's included on RadioCult's plans.
