Growing your online radio station's audience is likely one of your top priorities, whether you're broadcasting for passion or profit. While creating quality content is essential, getting discovered by new listeners can be just as challenging.
One of the most effective strategies for expanding your reach is ensuring your station is easily discoverable wherever potential listeners are searching. Building a beautiful site with intuitive navigation and seamless listening options creates a great foundation, but visibility is key to actually driving traffic to these experiences.
The solution? Submit your station to popular internet radio directories. These platforms act as discovery hubs where music lovers actively search for new stations to enjoy. By securing listings across multiple directories, you're essentially casting a wider net to catch listeners who might never have found your station otherwise.
Ready to expand your station's reach? Below you'll find a curated list of the most influential radio directories that can help boost your discoverability and grow your audience.
1. TuneIn
We would be remiss to start off a post on the most popular internet radio directories without mentioning TuneIn. However, TuneIn is no longer accepting new station submissions. If you're already on TuneIn then great! There's a big listenership there that you can try and make the most of but for new stations you're unfortunately out of luck.
2. Radio Garden
Radio Garden is one of our favourite radio directories. They're big supporters of community and independent radio and you can find some real pearls via them.
Additionally, Radio Garden has one of the most fun ways to find new radio stations via an interactive, globe-based interface. You can find new stations simply by spinning a virtual globe of the Earth.

iHeartRadio comes up a lot as a radio aggregator. However, not all stations are eligible to be submitted to iHeartRadio. Only stations with FCC issued call letters are currently being accepted. Online / internet-only radio stations are not able to be considered at this time.
